Bolton Wanderers 0 v 5 Ipswich Town - MOTM Callum King-Harmes

Just so inspiring

We all know the result.

We all know what went on.

Do we care? Not really.

In another inspiring performance, Bolton Wanderers’ youthful side battled manfully against a strong and experienced Ipswich Town. Yeah we lost five nil, but does anyone really care about that? I don’t think so.

In a game that was beyond Wanderers from the 19th minute, we still managed to have standout performers. On another day and had he not taken part in the disgraceful strike on the 2018/19 season, Remi Matthews might’ve earned MOTM given his performance - at least four excellent saves mean that it is only his terrible choice in going on strike that precludes him from earning the coveted award.

The highly prestigious MOTM trophy (there is no actual trophy) instead goes to young winger Callum King-Harmes.

Always eager, the little scamp was forever trying to make things happen.

It proved a frustrating afternoon for Wanderers’ attacking but it was absolutely brilliant to see the lads, and Callum in particular, work his absolute nuts off to get the ball and go on the front foot.

Having sat watching utter, utter, utter shite like Will Buckley and Craig Noone trundle their lazy arses up the wings for Wanderers in the past couple of years, to see CK-H driving forward with such exuberance really did warm the cockles of this cynical old heart.

Well done lad, let’s hope this is the first of many to come.
