So, Bolton Wanderers have just lost for the fourth time (well, three and & penalty loss and draw League Tophy result) against Rochdale this season 2-0 at Spotland.
Goals from Luke Matheson & Jimmy Ryan sealed another defeat for Wanderers, who had looked fairly decent in spells throughout the game.
The lapse in concentration for the first goal was poor. Having played fairly well in the first half, the hard work was undone as Matheson was awarded far too much room to run into the box and finish past Matthews a couple minutes before the break.
Wanderers certainly had chances to level the score.
Ethan Hamilton, who had hit the post in the first half, struck the bar in the second and saw a free kick well saved by Dale’s goalie.
Ronan Darcy hit a tame effort straight at the keeper from close range, a shot he really should have put away.
Wanderers were made to rue their missed opportunities as Ryan scored via a cruel deflection to seal the win for the home side.
Ethan Hamilton looks a good signing, though work is to be done in the market if Wanderers have any aspirations of staying up.
Muhammadu Faal came off the bench for his debut with twenty minutes to go, though struggled to get into the game. Let's hope he gets another chance to show what he's about on Tuesday.
On we go to Lincoln. Can’t wait.
