Transfer Gossip: Bolton Wanderers linked with Burnley defender Dunne

With the news today that Preston North End loanee Josh Earl is returning to Deepdale, Wanderers have been linked with a loan move for another defender; Burnley centre back Jimmy Dunne.

The oracle has just tweeted:

’Bolton. In for Jimmy Dunne at Burnley on loan. Centre half. Still trying for Wheater. Losing Earl and Sheff U lad. Big changes at back.”

The 22 year old has recently been recalled by The Clarets from Fleetwood Town, having moved to Highbury on a season long loan in the Summer. Having only played eleven times & not since November, Dunne has returned in the hopes of securing a move to another side.

The former Manchester United academy player has had plenty of experience in the lower leagues, having been part of Accrington Stanley’s promoted side in 2018. He has also spent time with Sunderland last season & had a spell with Hearts in Scotland.

Wanderers need recruits & with David Wheater and Jack Hendry also linked, it seems defensive signings are high on the list.
