A week into the January transfer window and Keith Hill has made it no secret that he’s on the lookout for new recruits having opted not to extend the loans of Thibaud Verlinden, Josh Earl and Jake Wright. The gaffer’s also implied that a Liam Bridcutt return looks very unlikely too. All of which have since departed the club.
Now just five days from our 47th away visit to Rochdale this season, with a threadbare squad, its looking like this week could be an extremely busy one for all involved with recruitment at Wanderers.
Having already been linked with various new faces, the most prominent of which being Muhammadu Faal & Jimmy Dunne, its no secret that we love a crowd-pleaser signing, a fans favourite return, an Adam Le Fondre-esque addition, and it looks as if this window will be no different in terms of ticking that box.
Having already been linked with two former Whites in the form of Oldham Athletic’s David Wheater and Nottingham Forest’s Zach Clough, there’s another two ex-Wanderers who’ve seemingly and officially, respectively, been made available in the last few hours, Gary Madine and Chris Eagles.
Whilst neither player has been linked, we thought we'd pose the question: Would you want to see either player return?
An extremely vague rumour on social media has emerged this morning from the Cardiff camp that Gary Madine is available on loan from Wales. Madine departed Wanderers in January of 2018 for a staggering £6 million, whilst Chris Eagles has mutually terminated his contract with the Latics.

Both of which, in their own ways, and at different stages of their careers, are looking for new clubs, Eagles more so than Madine in official capacity. Although there’s been nothing to suggest that Madine or Eagles are being targeted by Wanderers, both players have been fan favourites for Wanderers, which we seem to have a track record for re-signing.
Whether either, neither or both of these players emerge as potential signings for Bolton is of course yet to be seen though the second coming of August’s manic Monday, frantic Friday, means anything could happen.
Would you bring back these two Wanderers?
