Wanderers produced arguably their best all round performance at Cambridge yesterday. Here are my ratings for the game:
Billy Crellin - 4
Made a huge mistake to hand the hosts the lead. He’s only young & isn’t the finished product yet. Plenty of players have had poor games this season & are now looking mainstays in the team. Has been told to improve publicly by Evatt, who clearly has faith in him to remain as the clubs’ first choice. Time will tell whether the public criticism will have the desired affect.
Alex Baptiste - 6
A few fans were rightly miffed that Baptiste had kept his place in the starting XI given his performance at Barrow on Tuesday. However, he put in a much improved performance. Solid.
Ricardo Santos - 7.5
Looks like a completely different player after being shifted into the middle of the three. Another fantastic performance, one which kept Mullin quiet all afternoon.
Ryan Delaney - 6
As solid as the other defenders, though gave away a couple needless fouls. Six.
Peter Kioso - 7
A third game in a week for the wing back & another good performance. Hard to see Hickman starting ahead of him at the moment.
Harry Brockbank - 7
A great performance for Wanderers’ utility player. Still feel like he should be playing on the right of the back three, though he had a good game on the left wing. Had a goal unfairly ruled out for offside.
Andy Tutte - 7
A welcome return to the starting line-up. Brings a level head to the midfield & works well with Sarcevic and Crawford. Certainly a more forward thinking player compared to Comley.
Ali Crawford - 6.5
A solid game for Crawford, who was involved in both of Wanderers’ fantastic goals. His pass to Sarcevic for the equaliser was simply sublime.
Antoni Sarcevic - 7.5
Another excellent performance by Sarcevic, who put in a real captains performance. Took his goal really well to rescue a point for the second time this week.
Eoin Doyle - 6
Was involved in the Brockbank goal that was wrongly ruled out. Hobbled off with a hamstring strain, we can only hope he isn’t seriously injured.
Nathan Delfouneso - 7.5
A welcome return to the side after missing Tuesday’s game due to the birth of his child (Congratulations to the Delfouneso family by the way!) An assured performance, watching him running at defenders is a joy.
Arthur Gnahoua - 6.5
Put himself about well after replacing Doyle.
