Bolton Wanderers put in a determined performance to beat Bradford City 1-0, their first home win of the season.

Even though the majority of those watching didn’t see it, Wanderers took the lead in the 13th minute in slightly fortuitous circumstances.

Antoni Sarcevic hit the bar with a lobbed effort, then a Bradford defender hit the bar with an attempted clearance before the ball ricocheted towards Nathan Delfouneso, who smashed the ball into the corner to give Wanderers the lead.

I’m led to believe we played great in the first half - didn’t get to see the majority of it.

The second half saw the visitors on the ball more, though Wanderers held firm throughout. Ali Crawford had a few glorious chances to double the lead, though he unfortunately couldn’t hit the target when trying to curl his shots in.

With twenty minutes to go, Bradford were awarded a penalty when Delfouneso brought down O’Connor. One time Wanderers trialist Billy Clarke stepped up, but saw his effort kept out by Billy Crellin.

The young goalkeeper was publicly criticised by Ian Evatt last weekend & i’m absolutely delighted he was the hero tonight.

A penalty save & the clean sheet will have done wonders for his confidence.

Thanks to some determined defending & a little last minute shithousery from Ronan Darcy, Wanderers finally got that first home win.

Antoni Sarcevic ran the show again - he truly looks like a man possessed in the past week.

If we can work on finishing chances, I can see us going on a really strong run.

Up the winning at home Whites!
