According to Football Insider, Bolton Wanderers have opened talks with Crawley Town to bring back former winger, Filipe Morais.

An article from FI states:

“Bolton Wanderers and Bradford City have opened talks to sign Crawley Town winger Filipe Morais, Football Insider can reveal.

New Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has made Morias a top target as he looks to bolster his squad ahead of their League Two campaign.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Bolton face competition from fellow League Two hopefuls Bradford City with both clubs working to land Morais, 34, on a summer free transfer.”

The fans favourite spent eighteen months with Bolton, scoring three and assisting nineteen goals in fifty-six games.

Since departing in 2018, Morais signed for Crawley on a three year deal, spending last season on loan at Oldham Athletic.

Morais is a versatile player who played on the wing and wing back during his time with Wanderers. With Ian Evatt usually playing with a 3-5-2 formation, could we see Morais return to fill the right wing back spot? We’ll have to wait and see.

Of course, nothing is ever official until the player is holding the scarf on the official site.

Morais isn't the first former Wanderer linked with a return. Jay Spearing is also another rumoured target.
