According to an article from German publication Bild, Hamburg are open to the prospect of Xavier Amaechi staying at Bolton Wanderers for the season.
Discussing their potential plans for the January transfer window, the article stated about Amaechi:
“After a metatarsal fracture, the wing player is slowly gaining momentum again. If Bolton Amaechi wanted to rent another six months, HSV would be ready to talk.”
The former Arsenal youth prospect missed the first few months of the season, having suffered a metatarsal fracture during pre-season.
He finally made his debut last month as a late substitute in the 2-0 win against Crewe, before making his first start against Cheltenham. The winger impressed & scored his first Wanderers goal, showcasing some dazzling skill which i’m sure we’ll see more of should he stay beyond the end of the year.
Having Amaechi and Dapo on top form on either wing will be a threat to many sides in this league.
It’s clear Wanderers need the injection of new players just like they did last season in the January window. Keeping Amaechi should also be a priority as Ian Evatt looks to improve the squad for the rest of the season.
