Immediate Reaction: Bolton Wanderers 2-0 Scunthorpe United

A really accomplished performance against an in form Scunthorpe United led Bolton to a convincing 2-0 win, one which took them to within a point of the play-offs.

Ian Evatt made two changes to the side that beat Southend at the weekend, with Thomason and Isgrove coming in to replace Lee and Maddison.

Wanderers dominated possession in the first half and were given a golden opportunity to take the lead ten minutes before half time. Eoin Doyle was fouled in the box & the referee pointed straight for a penalty.

Doyle dispatched the spot kick ferociously to take his tally for the season to twelve, the joint most of any Wanderers player in a season since 2002.

Former Bolton right back Neil Cox made a triple substitution for the Irons going into the second half, which improved the away side - though they still failed to really create that key chance to get back into the game.

With fifteen minutes to go, captain Antoni Sarcevic secured the three points with a composed finish from close range after some smart link up play in the build up.

The win closes the gap to the play-offs and the automatic places, with Barrow the next visitors to the UNIBOL on Saturday.
