Bolton Wanderers continue their scintillating run of form, beating fellow promotion chasers Forest Green Rovers 1-0 at The New Lawn stadium.
Ian Evatt made one change from the side that beat Walsall 2-1 last weekend, with George Thomason returning to the starting line-up in place of Lloyd Isgrove. We also saw the rare sight of a substitute goalkeeper, with the on loan Burnley man Lukas Jensen making the matchday squad for the first time.
Within the first couple minutes of the game, FGR lost top goalscorer Jamille Matt due to a nasty looking hand injury. After what looked like a nothing collision with MJ Williams, Matt dislocated/broke all his fingers. Everyone at LOV wish Matt a speedy recovery back.
Thankfully, the game would be won by the other in form striker on the pitch - our own Eoin Doyle!
Five minutes before half time, Nathan Delfouneso put in a fantastic cross which was volleyed superbly into the net by Doyle for his sixteenth of the season - the first Wanderers striker to hit more than fifteen since Michael Ricketts got 24 in the 00/01 season.
Despite a few wonky refereeing decisions in the second half, Wanderers held on to jump above FGR into the automatic promotion places.
What a win! COYW
