According to Football Insider, Bolton Wanderers might just have found their new competition for Eoin Doyle - former Coventry striker, Amadou Bakayoko.
A report from FI states:
“Bolton Wanderers have opened talks to sign Amadou Bakayoko after his Coventry City exit, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Championship club announced in May that they were letting the forward, 25, go when his deal expires at the end of June.
A Bolton source has told Football Insider the club have swooped for Bakoyoko as they look to win the race for his signature.
The centre-forward is eager to get his future sorted in the coming weeks.”
The 25 year old scored twelve goals in eighty fives games for Coventry, including one in a 2-1 victory against Bolton last year. He also was one of the players to have a goal ruled out for offside in that famous 0-0 draw that featured the Bolton Babes.
Bakayoko has played plenty of games at League One level - though isn’t the most prolific in front of goal. He’s managed 20 goals in 147 games in the third tier.
