Bolton Wanderers have bolstered their defensive ranks with the signing of former Feyernoord and Wigan Athletic player, George Johnston!
The 22 year old centre back joins Wanderers on a three deal, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Wigan.
Upon his arrival at the UNIBOL, Johnston said to the official site:
“It feels great to have made the move,” Johnston told bwfc.co.uk.
“Being part of a massive club who are on the rise was something I was desperate to be involved with.
”One of the reasons why I came here was to help the club get back to where it belongs.
“I’m looking forward to playing here at the University of Bolton Stadium especially with the fans coming back.”
The Scotland U21 international began his career at Liverpool where he was U23 captain, before moving to the Netherlands to join Feyernoord in 2019 for a six figure sum.
Johnston played four times for the Dutch side last season before moving to Wigan on loan, scoring once in twenty-two games as the Latics managed to stay in League One.
Judging by the reaction of the Wigan fans, we look to have a real player on our hands.
Welcome George!
