According to Alan Nixon of The Sun, Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic are both interested in Stoke City winger, James McClean.
A small column in the paper states:
“Winger James McClean is a target for local rivals Wigan and Bolton. The Stoke star, 32, can move and Latics are keen on a return to the club for him. But Wanderers are also trying to set up a deal.”
McClean has recently started training with Stoke’s U23s as his time at the club looks to be coming to an end.
The left sided midfielder, who has been capped 82 times by the Republic of Ireland, spent two years at Wigan from 2013-2015, scoring ten goals in eighty-six games.
With Dapo Afolayan and Amadou Bakayoko starting the season strongly in the wide positions, do we need another winger? Especially considering Wanderers recently added former Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday forward Elias Kachunga to their front line.
Would you sign McClean? Let us know in the comments below.
