Wanderers put on a great attacking display at the first game with fans at Plough Lane for thirty years, though were less convincing at the back.
Here are my ratings:
Joel Dixon - 6
Couldn’t really have done much for any of the goals. Solid performance.
Gethin Jones - 5.5
Made a great run during the build up for Wanderers’ third but was guilty of some awful positioning for Wimbledon’s equaliser.
Ricardo Santos - 6
Gave away a penalty & was caught out like Jones for the Dons third goal. Not as commanding as he was midweek in the cup.
Alex Baptiste - 6
Was caught out of position for the second Dons goal. Can see Johnston getting the nod ahead of him tomorrow night.
Declan John - 5.5
Poor defending in the build up for the penalty. Can tell he wasn’t fully fit and was substituted soon after. Expect Gordon to start against Lincoln.
MJ Williams - 6
Did a decent job at breaking up play but not as good as he had been in our first two games.
Josh Sheehan - 8
Made a great run to finish off a fantastic move for Wanderers’ second goal. A proper joy to watch him play & it’s insane to think we’ve signed him for free.
Antoni Sarcevic - 6
Another solid outing from the skipper.
Amadou Bakayoko - 6.5
Produced a great cross for Wanderers’ third and was a nuisance all afternoon for the Dons defence.
Dapo Afolayan - 7
Did well to earn Wanderers a penalty in the first half and was in the right place to put Bakayoko’s ball across the box into the back of the net. Great to see him celebrate with the Jay-Jay.
Eoin Doyle - 7
Took his penalty well to open his account for the season & put in a superb ball in for Sheehan to grab the second goal.
