After being named in the provisional squad for the upcoming international friendlies, Josh Sheehan has now been called up by Wales manager Rob Page for the squad set to face Finland, Belarus and Estonia.
A statement just released by Wales states:
“Aaron Ramsey, Joe Rodon, George Thomas and Neco Williams have all withdrawn from the Cymru squad due to injury, with Brendan Cooper, Mark Harris, Josh Sheehan and Ben Woodburn called up as replacements.
Ethan Ampadu, Tyler Roberts and Brendan Cooper will be unable to travel to Kazan for the World Cup qualifier against Belarus as they were unable to get their Russian visa approved in time to travel to Finland. They will travel back to Cardiff to prepare for the Estonia game while the rest of the squad head to Kazan to face Belarus.”
Everyone at LOV is delighted for Josh and we all hope he can add to the two caps he already has, having made his debut last November against the USA.
Sadly, it means that Sheehan will miss next Monday’s game against Burton Albion, so fingers crossed Kieran Lee or George Thomason can step up and deputise.
