According to reports from journalist Alan Nixon, Manchester City could allow goalkeeper James Trafford to return to Bolton Wanderers on loan for the upcoming season.

The 19 year old proved to be a fan favourite last season after joining the club in the January transfer window, keeping seven clean sheets in twenty-two appearances.

He was rewarded for his form with Wanderers by being handed his debut for the England U21s on Friday night, keeping a clean sheet as Lee Carsley’s side beat Kosovo 5-0.

Nixon also states that if Wanderers are successful in acquiring Trafford for the season, it could mean that fellow ‘keeper Joel Dixon will be allowed to leave to re-join Barrow.

It’s great that City are open to letting us have Trafford back, though who would be his backup for the season?

If Dixon leaves, does that mean that Ian Evatt will sign another goalkeeper or does he see Luke Hutchinson as adequate comeptiton for Trafford?
