Bolton Wanderers have made their second signing of the Summer transfer window - and it’s the return of a familiar face. Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford has re-joined Wanderers on a season long loan.

The 19 year old proved to be a fans favourite since his arrival in January, keeping seven clean sheets in twenty-two appearances last season, helping the club finish 9th in the league.

He was rewarded for his form with Wanderers by being handed his debut for the England U21s last Friday night, keeping a clean sheet as Lee Carsley’s side beat Kosovo 5-0.

Upon his return, Ian Evatt told the official site:

“We’re delighted Traff is going to be back with us and we’re grateful to Manchester City for allowing him to return for a second spell.

“He did really well for us last season as part of our defensive unit and quickly became a key part of the group.

“We’re looking forward to working with him again next season.

“He’s a young goalkeeper who’s still learning and who will only get better.

“He’s another important signing for us, who already knows how we work, and I know one which will be popular with the supporters as well.”

Welcome back Traff!
