It’s that time of year again, folks. Once again another football season is right around the corner and as we do every year, all the writers here at LOV are going to try and predict how the season will go for Bolton.

Next up is Jamie:

Best signing

Last season our weakness was conceding too many goals. In terms of an entirely new signing I am going to pick Jack Iredale as a proven player with League One experience.

Top scorer

There are a few names which could sit here with Amadou Bakayoko, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, Dion Charles and Dapo Afolayan all capable of hitting double figures this season.

I am going to go for Bodvarsson who I am backing to pick up where he left off last season.

Game I’m most looking forward to

Exeter City away without a doubt. Having spent time living down there and missing the game in League Two due to Covid I cannot wait.

Opposing player I’d love to have

In terms of players in this league Barry Bannan still looks like a sexy footballer.

Key player

For us this season I think that is a difficult one to narrow down. Dapo being on form will be so important in those tight matches.

However, sticking with last season’s main weakness Ricardo Santos being on form looks key to me.

Predict the first six games

Ipswich (A) - 2-1 - I just have a feeling we will have their number again this season.

Wycombe (H) - 1-1 - A tricky one to call, but I can see a decent Wycombe side walking away with a point.

Salford (H - LC) 3-1 - I cannot wait to see Gary Neville’s face.

Port Vale (A) - 1-0 - A hard fought away win against a team playing for the point.

Morecombe (H) - 1-1 - It just seems inevitable doesn’t it?

Sheffield Wednesday (H) - 1-1 - This is a tough game, and a point would be a solid return.

Final position

I think we will be in or around the top six all season. I am feeling optimistic, forth.

Any other business prediction

People seem to back Derby County, I cannot see them finishing in the top ten with their preparations for the season being so seriously affected.
