21. Darren Pratley

Michael Steele

Name: Darren Pratley
Squad Number: 21
Position: Midfield
Joined: July 2011
Contract Expires: 30th June 2015

Energetic midfielder Darren Pratley joined Bolton Wanderers in July 2011 on a free transfer from Swansea City where he was club captain. He began his career with Fulham before going on to enjoy two loan spells with Brentford. Pratley would move to Wales in June 2006 for £100,000.

His career in Wales would be marked by his athletic ability and timing of runs into the box which would yield important goals for the side. No more so than in the Play Off Semi Final in 2011 where he would score in an empty net from the halfway line in the last minute of the game against Nottingham Forest.

Pratley's Bolton Wanderers debut was in the first game of the season where the side defeated Queens Park Rangers 4-0 to briefly top the table. He would score his first goal for the club against his former side Swansea City but was unable to help Bolton avoid relegation to the Championship. He would then go on to become an important member of the side who narrowly failed to reach the Play Offs.
